After much UK and international success in the past few years, Fever’s gorgeous Candlelight concerts will now come to Belfast, ready to enchant your eyes and ears with a series of sensational shows. Featuring classical renditions of modern music, alongside performances of traditional concertos, Candlelight concerts have something to suit everyone. First up, the works of masterful composer Ludovico Einaudi will fill Ulster Museum on December 29 (and again on January 13), celebrating a modern music legend. A talented pianist will serenade you with renditions of Nuvole Bianche, Primavera, I Giorni, and more, and when combined with the gently flickering candlelight, it’s a concert that’ll leave you so at peace. Then, the Ulster Museum will be all Yellow… under the glow of candlelight, that is, for a Coldplay Candlelight concert on January 7. A talented string quartet will treat you to a full hour of the familiar hits in Coldplay’s back catalogue, including Fix You, Don’t Panic, Sky Full Of Stars, and many, many more. Come hear The Arco String Quartet pay tribute to incredible movie scores that capture the essence of some of the best movies of all times. At Candlelight: Hans Zimmer’s Best Works on January 20, St Anne’s Cathedral will be filled with remarkable compositions from the award-winning film composer Hans Zimmer. You’ll be able to relieve memorable on-screen moments from films like Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Night and Sherlock Holmes, among others.
Things take a enchanting turn on January 21, to celebrate the chart-topping hits of songwriting star Taylor Swift. A special Candlelight concert, on January 27, will have you turnt up at Candlelight: Hip-Hop’s Greatest Hits. The candles will illuminate St Anne’s Cathedral as you listen to some of your favourite hip-hop anthems in a new light. A pianist will delight you with the best rap caviar there is and have you feelin’ yourself to the beat of some of Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Coolio‘s music. To wrap it all up, on January 27 too, Candlelight concerts will pay tribute to the music of legendary Fleetwood Mac. Their iconic tunes will be given a more classical twist, as they are performed by a pianist and violinist duo. Expect to hear Gypsy, Go Your Own Way and Gold Dust Woman – to name just a few – in a brand-new way.
